Public Health Statement on Simulated 3D Viewing
For Use by Industry and Other Stakeholders
There is no evidence that viewing 3D images (pictures, movies, games and other media) is harmful to your eyes or vision.

Any discomfort experienced while viewing 3D (blurred images, seeing double, dizziness or nausea, eye irritation, eye fatigue or inability to appreciate the 3D effect) may indicate a serious pre-existing vision or eye health problem.

By age 2, comfortable 3D viewing is typical; individuals age 2 and older experiencing discomfort should be examined by a doctor of optometry (optometrist). If a vision or eye health issue is found, early diagnosis and prompt treatment can often correct most deficiencies.
